News this week included a young man who died from rat-lungworm parasite after eating slug on a dare - slow death by nerve damage. I was surprised to learn garden snails are among the top-10 most dangerous critters. No word on how long we're supposed to cook slugs.
"No doctor would choose to die by fatal stooling." - is a real thing I heard in a true-crime show. Detectives solved a murder, because the method was far too slow and terrible. See hover-text for alternate, more graphic punchline.
Animal germs have been particularly dangerous. All our favorite farm animals live with viruses that caused serious trouble when one jumped into a person. Thousands of live animals crowded together for farming, breeds more lethal pathogens. Increasing social-distances means the virus needs sick animals more active - a larger poop radius.
